Ask A Question
Pleyer Pianos the oldest piano makers are planning of redesigning their new pianos. This piano makers has been around from 1757. It was founded by Ignace Pleyel who is a composer himself and after his death it was taken over by his son Camille. These pianos of very weird design and were smaller in size than the pianos we get these days. Unfortunately it is not doing so well as the Korean and Chinese piano companies have taken over most of the piano business these days. That is why Pleyel has now decided to bring in the new change by recreating a new shape and design to their pianos.
Apparently the new innovative designs will be more attractive to their target audiences and they are hoping to increase their sales from it. Pianos has maintained the similar type of shape for many years and Arnaud Marion the artistic director from Pleyel wants his team to build pianos in an artistic way to attract the eyes of the audience.
This is interesting, he also said that the sales has gone down from 70’s and 80’s by a mile. In 1980’s they used to sell over 40,000 pianos and now they are only selling up to 8,000 pianos each year. It is hard to find if this is because of the old designs they currently hold or because of the competition they are getting from Asian companies.
In this 21st century there are new technologies being introduced every year sometimes even every month, so it is very important to move head to head with these changes and adapt to it. New design changes in instruments have occurred for many years. Just look at the how shape of guitars, keyboard pianos, drums, violin and other instruments have changed from 10 to 20 years ago.
It is good that Pleyer are planning to do a new change, because it one of the recognisable companies in piano world. Many Pleyer resellers and fans are eargerly awaiting this change.

Father’s Day is not far away and I am thinking getting my Dad a new musical instrument for this year’s special day. My Dad has been playing pianos ever since he was 5 years old and for some reason I want to get him a different instruments in the shape of Guitar. I believe its never too late to learn a new instrument and I am sure he will look at this as a new challenge also will be exciting for him to know learn guitar, if he doesn’t then he still has to. I don’t think getting him another piano would be a wise idea as he already has 3 pianos at home.
I have been playing guitar since I was young, so I think it’s time for me to switch to piano and him to switch to guitar just for fun activities really. I have been looking at getting acoustic guitars to buy for my Dad. I started with playing acoustic guitar and I believe because of its original sound acoustic is the best way to learn guitar. Learning through acoustic has helped me a lot and now I can play any guitar whether it’s electric, classical or bass.
My Father has been playing the piano for a very long time. Nowadays he transfers what he learnt to education and gives piano lessons to kids in schools and colleges. It’s also easy if you have a keyboard piano you will be able to carry it anywhere. May be I can start doing something like in few year, it will be surely help as some sort of an income. If we can get few customers together then we are planning to open guitar and piano teaching business and me learning piano and dad learning guitar will definitely be very useful.
Oh and last but not the least don’t be surprised to see a Father and Son playing instruments in Britain’s got talent in 12 to 16 months time.
